Statewide network makes full archive public on Authory as traditional business coverage in Florida continues to contract
BRANDON, Fla. – September 7, 2026 – The Florida Authority Network (FAN), a 35-site portfolio of regional and industry business news publications, announced today that it has crossed 1,900 published articles and has opened its complete archive to the public at authory.com/FloridaAuthorityNetwork.
The announcement arrives at a moment when Florida’s economy and Florida’s business press are moving in opposite directions. State records list more than 4 million business entities in active status, and roughly 2,200 new companies register on a typical business day. At the same time, staff reductions at legacy newspapers and business journals have left the volume of original reporting on Florida companies shrinking year after year, with much of what remains locked behind subscriptions.
“Florida has a four-million-company economy and a business press sized for a fraction of it,” said Brian French, founder and publisher of the Florida Authority Network. “Our job is to document the companies, industries, and regions nobody else is writing about, and to do it in a form that search engines and AI assistants can actually use. Nineteen hundred articles is a milestone, but the archive is the real story. It is a verifiable, permanent record of Florida business that anyone can check.”
A different publishing model
FAN departs from the traditional newsroom in three ways:
- Coverage is organized by place and industry, not by headline. Dedicated sites serve Tampa Bay, Miami, Jacksonville and other metros alongside statewide verticals for technology, finance, real estate, law, medical, tourism, and home services.
- Every article follows an answer-first format. Reports open with a direct summary, include structured data tables and FAQs, and close with signed analysis, so a reader or an AI assistant can extract the answer to a specific question without hunting for it.
- Content is built to last. FAN profiles and industry reports are written as reference documents intended to stay accurate and discoverable long after publication, rather than as disposable daily items.
Verified archive now live
Publishing the full portfolio on Authory provides a single, independently hosted record of the network’s output. Each entry links to the originating FAN site, giving readers, sources, and search systems a clear trail of authorship across all 35 domains.
Next phase: proprietary data
FAN also confirmed plans to introduce original data indexes across its sites in the coming months. Each index will combine multiple public data inputs, tracked over time, into a single composite measure for its market, giving Florida businesses reference points that are not available from any other source.
